[Newleaf] Plate and bowl collection

Hey all!

I am part of a student initiative to open a student-run cooperative cafe in
the Tavern.  We have been working on this project since last semester and
are now deep into the planning process.  In order to have some hands on
experience throughout all of this planning, we have decided to start
catering events- we already have three events lined up before the end of the
semester!  We've realized that catering can oftentimes be quite wasteful and
we want to try to find a way to avoid that from happening.  Currently we do
not have the capacity to purchase enough reusable plates, etc. especially
seeing that two of our events will have over 100 people attending.

I remember Leah sending you an email a while back about some sort of plate
collection/ renting system and  I was wondering if anything has come of that
idea?  The student cafe initiative would love to partner up with you all to
find a way to make our catering a little more sustainable.  I know this
might not be able to happen before these upcoming events, but maybe we could
all get together to go free pile shopping as the semester is coming to an
end..  It would be great to hear your thoughts on this if you are interested
in getting involved.  If you have any other ideas of ways we can make our
events more sustainable, please let us know-
