Heather Wolfe and Renate Mesmer, scholars from the Folger Shakespeare Library, will discuss what’s at stake in conserving, digitizing, and transcribing manuscripts and printed books at the Folger, how they juggle competing and sometimes incompatible priorities, and how tiny decisions made today can affect future and as-yet unknown research needs.
