The Harold Johnson Library invites you to the grand opening of the 
Robert Seydel Reading Room.  Come celebrate the life and interests of 
Robert Seydel, former faculty member in the Film, Photo, and Video 
Program, as we inaugurate a unique environment to use and peruse his 
extraordinary library of books.**

This event will take place on the 12^th of September 2014 from 4-6pm. 
The Robert Seydel Reading Room is on the second floor of the Harold F. 
Johnson Library at Hampshire College.

An exhibition devoted to the extraordinary variety of Seydel's art and 
his impact on his students will be on display in the Main Gallery on the 
ground floor of the Library during the month of September.

In addition to the events at Hampshire, the Mortimer Rare Book Room at 
Smith College is presenting "Robert Seydel: The Eye in Matter" from 2 
September-15 December in the gallery on the 3rd floor of the Nielsen 
Library.  Please come to the panel discussion and reception for the 
exhibition on 29th September 6-8pm in the Nielsen Library Browsing Room.
