Nora and I realize that changing the meeting from Jan. 10 to Jan. 24 on such
short notice will inevitably mean that several of you who had been planning
to attend Stephen Clingman's discussion of Heshel's Kingdom will not be able
to make it. We want to do our best to avoid that circumstance and have
decided to look into moving Stephen's talk to March, thus giving you more
time to plan ahead for the postponed meeting. I've written to Stephen and am
in hope of his getting the message and having a chance to respond in the
next few days.

So keep your fingers crossed and stay tuned! We'll let you know as soon as
ever we can as to the date for the Jacobson book talk. And we're in the
final stages of setting the books and discussion leaders for the spring
semester! In the meantime, happy new year!

Jim
