September 27, 5pm – Midnight. (Open Mic opens at Mid.)
September 28, 10am – Midnight.
September 29, 11am – 6pm. (Open Mic closes at Mid.)

All events take place on the lawn fronting the Johnson Library.
(Rain locations located across campus.)

Thirty six of the most award-winning, sought-after, and 
up-and-coming Performance Poets in the continent converge 
on the Hampshire College campus for a weekend of performance 
and interaction with the community. Among those scheduled to 
read are Marty McConnell, director of Youth Speaks NY, 
Regie Gibson, winner of the 1998 National Individual Poetry
 Slam Championship, Brenda Moossy, winner of the Qalam Award 
in Fiction, underground hip-hop poet legend, Sage Francis, and 
Patricia Smith, 4-time winner of the National Individual Poetry Slam.

Special Events include a 48-hour sustained Open-Mic space in 
the Yurt Radio Station beginning Friday at Midnight, and ending 
Sunday Midnight, broadcast across campus, and a Saturday Night 
Slam, including multiple winners of past National Individual Poetry
 Slam Championships.

Additionally, a video crew will be circulating all weekend, 
filming for a retrospective CD and VHS/DVD, expected to be 
available at the Hampshire College Bookstore early 2003.

All welcome. Admission is free.
