Hazon (Hebrew for "vision") was founded in 2000 with a mission to create a
healthier and more sustainable Jewish community, as a step towards a
healthier and more sustainable world for all. As the leading non-profit
environmental organization in the American Jewish community, Hazon is a
catalyst for innovative educational food programs that touch people's lives
directly as well as shape policies and raise awareness about food in
communal institutions across the country and in Israel.
Now in its third year, the Food Conference is fashioned to be the place for
addressing issues of sustainability, food justice, health, and nutrition as
they relate to Jewish tradition and Jewish life. The Hazon Food Conference
will bring together foodies, educators, rabbis, farmers, nutritionists,
chefs, students, food writers, and families who share a passion for learning
about and celebrating food. We would be delighted to have you join us for
inspiring lectures and discussions, hands-on cooking sessions, an inclusive
Shabbat and Chanukah celebration, and of course delicious, consciously
prepared food.
Through the generous support of Hillel, Hazon is able to offer scholarships
for a select number of college students from Small and Mighty campuses (that's us!)to
participate in the Hazon Food Conference. If you are interested in further exploring
