Dear Debra, As Chanukah approaches, we at the Goldreich Institute would like to wish you a very happy Festival of Lights. As you reflect on this last year, I hope you have good memories from being a participant in the first Tel Aviv International Yiddish Program. It was a great pleasure for us to host you during the month of July, in our total immersion in Yiddish language and culture. We are now making preparations for our second year, and we wanted to inform you as early as possible about the dates: June 25 to July 19. Once again, the program will be a partnership of the Goldreich Family Institute for Yiddish Language, Literature, and Culture, Beth Shalom Aleichem, and Yung Yidish. It will include concerts, sing-alongs at the beach, the Shabes Tisch, walking tours, and workshops. Prof. David Roskies will be joining us again, and this time there will be two series' of lectures in English : one by Prof. Michael Stanislavski of Columbia University and another by Prof. Justin Cammy of Smith College. There will also be lectures in Yiddish, of course. On behalf of Prof. Avraham Novershtern, Mendy Cahan, and myself, I would appreciate your spreading the word to your friends and colleagues, encouraging them to apply for the coming summer. And if you'd like to improve your Yiddish, please come back. You are always welcome. In the attachment, you will find the text of the program as it is now advertised on the Tel Aviv University Overseas Program website. Please forward it to anyone who might be interested. If you have any questions, please contact our new Summer Program Coordinator, Adina Stern. Best wishes as always, Professor Hana Wirth-Nesher Professor Hana Wirth-Nesher Department of English and American Studies Director, Goldreich Family Institute for Yiddish Language, Literature, and Culture Webb Building Tel Aviv University Ramat Aviv, Israel 69978 Ph: 972 3 6407805 Fax: 972 3 6407732
