Dear Five College faculty colleagues, 

I wanted to let you know that we've made limited scholarships available
for students who want to attend our upcoming weekend program I. L.
Peretz: Classic and Contemporary [1], taught by Ruth Wisse and Smith's
Justin Cammy. Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students are
eligible to apply for a scholarship that will cover the entire cost of
the weekend (lectures, meals, and events, though not accommodations). 

These programs often sell out (Yiddish Book Center members pay $300 to
participate, and even then we don't entirely recoup our costs), but we
want to make sure that students can participate. 

In order to apply, students should simply email Lesley Yalen at
lyalen at yiddishbookcenter.org with a brief (150-300 words) description of
where they go to school, what year they are, what they are studying, and
why they would like to attend this program. We want to know how this
program would contribute to their course of study. 

We're really happy to be able to offer a few scholarships, and we hope
you will share this information with any students who might be
interested. Registration for the program may fill fast, and we can only
consider students' applications as long as we continue to have space
available--so they should apply soon.
