Welcome First Years, Orientation Leaders, Interns, and Returning Faculty
and Staff!

We are so excited for the year to start!

The High Holidays begin the first day of classes. As Eva sent out in an
announcement those celebrating are excused from class and will not be
penalized or taken off wait lists. Just notify the faculty and if there
are any issues, contact me at lmnSA at hampshire.edu. Additionally classes
may be cancelled for faculty who are celebrating so remember to check in
about the start date of your classes.

Rosh HaShanah services will take place in the FPH Faculty Lounge.
On Wednesday September 4th, dinner will begin at 5:30 pm, followed by a
service from 6:30-7:45 pm.
On Thursday September 5th, morning services will take place from 9:30-11am.
Tashlikh (a ritual to help with introspection and renewal in the new year)
will take place at 3 pm. We will meet at the Faculty Lounge and walk over
to the woods together.

There will be plenty of opportunities for active engagement in the
services, both planned and spontaneous, in English and in Hebrew. Are you
interested in chanting Torah (even just a few verses!)? Chanting or reading
the blessings before and after the Haftarah reading? Reading a selection of
Haftarah in English? Participating in some other way? Let the rabbinical
student who will be leading us know by emailing
Gray.Myrseth at hebrewcollege.edu Gray looks forward to meeting many of you
soon. Don't hesitate to get in touch with any questions, hopes, or ideas!

Mindfulness Meditation will begin on Thursday September 5th at 4:30 in the
Spiritual Life Center donut 5 Greenwich.

Here's to a joyful start of the new year!
