Come join the Jewish Student Union and Spiritual Life as we welcome
Hampshire alum Reb Ezra on October 11 and 12. Ezra's bio is below.

On October 11 at 8 pm in the Merrill Living room Reb Ezra will be
hosting a Tish: A Celebration of Spirituality. There will be
inspirational songs, stories, poems, and dessert. Feel free to bring
your own to share. Instruments welcome as well!

On October 12 at 12 pm, Reb Ezra will be doing a Spiritual Journey
lunch in the Dakin Living room. His spiritual journey is titled:
OCCUPY THIS: From Hampshire Red Scare Captain to Reconstructionist
Rabbi.

On October 12 at 6 pm in the Prescott Tavern, we're coming together
with the Jewish Community of Amherst to host Shabbat services and
dinner. Join us for this big community celebration!

Personal bio:
Reb Ezra Weinberg (F97) is a local product and Hampshire graduate.
While at school he did his Division II and III in Conflict
Transformation with an emphasis on creating hope and new realities in
the Middle East. After he graduated he moved to Israel and founded an
Urban Kibbutz to help further that vision. While in Israel he
rediscovered how subversive religion is at its core and decided that
to lay a spiritual framework on his peace-work and decided to become a
rabbi. Leaving Israel, Ezra attend the Reconstructionist Rabbinical
College for his training where he discovered the power of communal
prayer to inspire action and change. He was most recently involved
with creating the Occupy Rosh Hashana service at Occupy Wall Street
this year. He currently lives in New York City with his wife and
child as a part time rabbi and part time stay home Dad.

E-mail me with any questions!

Love,
The JSU
