Filmmaker Lilach Naishtat from Tel Aviv University will be presenting her work
"Home and Identity in a Holocaust Survivor's Reality" this Thursday, February
17 at 5:00pm. The talk will take place at the FCWSRC at 83 College Street on
the Mount Holyoke campus.
This project and documentary film examines the life of a German-Israeli
Holocaust survivor. Living most of the year in Israel, she has spent the last
twenty-five summers in the house that was her childhood home in Germany, now a
residence and museum. Examining German, Jewish and Israeli motivations, the
film is a German-Israeli collaborative exploration of what it means to move
between homes and between contexts. It promises to be an intriguing and
provocative discussion
and I hope you'll join us.
Naishtat was interviewed by the Springfield Republican this week. The article
