I wanted to share this piece with all the various
religious/spiritual/queer lists to which I subscribe.

This is incredibly moving memoir of a transgender woman's personal
spiritual journey as represented by two visits to Jerusalem and the
Kotel (Western Wall). First as a man with his wife and children and then
as a woman on her own. I feel blessed to know the author who is a member
of the Jewish Community of Amherst, David's (my partner's) synagogue.

I also know that Joy, the author, would be happy to come to Hampshire to
talk about her experience. Just contact me if you'd like me to put you
in touch with her.

Shalom/Salaam/Peace,

spn

/"The more deeply immersed I became in the thinking of the prophets, the
more powerfully it became clear to me what the lives of the prophets
sought to convey: that morally speaking there is no limit to the concern
one must feel for the suffering of human beings. /

/"It also became clear to me that in regard to cruelties committed in
the name of a free society, some are guilty, all are responsible."/
