[Jewish] Open Positions at the JCA for Fall- Please forward

The Jewish Community of Amherst, a Reconstructionist synagogue about a mile
from the Center of Amherst, Massachusetts, has a number of positions open
for this upcoming academic year (Sept-May/June) for Sunday school teachers,
post-B'nai Mitzvah teachers, and teen advisers. Please contact the person
that is indicated for each position. Positions will be filled on a rolling
basis.

Teen Adviser Positions
JCAT Teen Assistant Adviser
There is an opening for a JCAT (Jewish Community of Amherst Teens) assistant
adviser for the teen group for teens in grades 7-9. Adviser will assist in
chaperoning events a few times per year at the JCA and in the surrounding
area. Must have HS diploma and experience with this age group. Pay

BBYO Teen Adviser
BBYO (B'nai Brith Youth Organization) in collaboration with the JCA is
looking for an adviser for the BBYO group for teens in grades 9-12. The
adviser will be responsible for empowering the teen board to plan and
implement events, attend trainings through JCA and BBYO, attend weekly board
meetings, chaperone monthly events, and attend regional conventions and
Kallahs. Previous experience with Jewish teen programming and/or BBYO
preferred. Bachelor's degree preferred. Pay commensurate with experience.

Teaching Positions for the Kehila Program (8-12th graders)
Holocaust and Human Rights
The Kehila program at the Jewish Community of Amherst is looking for someone
to teach a Holocaust and Human Rights class twice per month on Wednesdays
6-710pm for 8th graders. Prior experience teaching this age group and topic
preferred. Salary commensurate with experience and education level. Please

Comparative Religion and Comparative Judaism
The Kehila program at the Jewish Community of Amherst is looking for someone
to teach a Comparative Religions & Comparative Judaism class twice per month
on Wednesdays 6-710pm for 9th & 10th graders. Prior experience teaching this
age group and topic preferred. Class may be taught by inviting in speakers
from various religions and sects of Judaism. Salary commensurate with

Elective Teachers
The Kehila program at the JCA is looking for individuals to teach electives
twice per month on Wednesdays 715-8pm for 8-12th graders. Prior experience
with this age is a must. Elective topics may include (but are not limited
to) Conversational Hebrew, Current and Politics and in the Middle East,
Jewish Art and Artists, Jewish Culture, Jewish Cooking, Calligraphy, Judaism
through Film, etc. Salary commensurate with experience and education level.

Sunday School/Hebrew School Teachers
The Religious school at the JCA is looking for individuals to teach on
Wednesdays 3:30-5 and Sundays 10-12. Prior experience with grades 3-7 and
experience in teaching, counseling, advising or babysitting is a must.
