Israel Education Fellow

Hillel's mission is to enrich the lives of Jewish undergraduate and graduate
students so that they may enrich the Jewish people and the world. Hillel offers
one-year fellowships for outstanding recent college graduates at Hillel's
International Center in Washington, DC. Hillel's International Center Fellows
gain a unique opportunity to affect many aspects of Jewish campus life while
receiving an in-depth professional experience. These Fellowships are both
learning and professional experiences, with great attention paid to ensuring
each Fellow's Jewish and professional development.

Each Fellowship involves varying degrees of travel. Fellows represent Hillel on
campuses, at conferences and at various meetings. Applicants should possess
excellent communication skills, writing and public speaking ability, strong
leadership skills, an ability to manage multiple tasks, and a commitment to the
Jewish community. Hillel's International Center is the equivalent of corporate
headquarters for this worldwide nonprofit organization. Fellows regularly
interact with all departments of the organization, including the highest levels
of management. Regular meetings among the Fellows with Schusterman
International Center senior professionals also enrich the Fellowship
experience.

Israel Education Fellowship

The Israel Fellow works to engage students through dynamic, creative Israel
programming as part of Hillel's Joseph Meyerhoff Center for Jewish Learning.
The Fellow will be part of an Israel team which includes the Hillel-Jewish
Agency shaliach, educators in the Meyerhoff Center for Jewish Learning and the
Israel on Campus Coalition. The Fellow will promote cultural, political,
historical, intellectual and other non-traditional forms of Israel education.
Projects will include the writing of resources for campuses, promoting study in
Israel, trips and missions to Israel, cultural and peer-to-peer programs. The
Fellow will identify emerging student leaders and seek to encourage projects on
campus that can reach new audiences and will coordinate the activities and
training of the Grinspoon Israel Advocacy Interns. The Fellow should have
leadership experience in Israel-related activities and organizations, be
knowledgeable about Israel and have spent significant time there. The Fellow
should also have excellent communication skills, the ability to take initiative
and be able to manage projects and people.
