Hampshire College Jewish Studies is offering up to four awards of up to $200
each to fund academic student projects at the Division II or Division III level
in areas relating to Jewish Studies. The money can be used to fund research or
travel, conference travel and registration, or materials and support during the
2005-2006 academic year.
Proposal Components:
1. Description of the project (300-500 words), which must include:
a. The background, argument, and significance of the project
b. What is it you are requesting support for and why?
2. A detailed, itemized budget description of how the money will be spent (or
has been spent already, if a student is looking to support activities already
completed)
3. A letter of support from a faculty member of the Division II or Division III
committee
Criteria for Judgement:
Quality of proposed work and of proposal
Demonstrated necessity for request
Clear evidence of faculty support and advice
Rules for Grant Recipients:
At the completion of the project you will be expected to submit: a written
evaluation of the project, receipts, and a description of how the funds were
spent. Awards cannot be dispensed until this information is submitted.
