Hey Hampshire Jews!
The Yiddish Book Center is hosting a concert and a series of workshops two
weekends from now, on the topic of Yiddish in Israel. THESE EVENTS ARE FREE
FOR STUDENTS (usually $64)- including a catered lunch on Sunday afternoon.

Saturday, October 15th - Concert
Yiddish in Israel: Past, Present, and Future
Pianist Daniel Galay and cellist Rachel Galay perform traditional Jewish
music set to Yiddish texts.
8 P.M. Cost: $10
Sunday, October 16th - Workshop
Yiddish in Israel: Past, Present, and Future
A day-long exploration of the state of Yiddish in Israel:
. Yael Chaver, author of What Must Be Forgotten reads Yiddish poetry from
Zionist Palestine and Israel.
. Discussion in Yiddish with Daniel Galay on the new Ashkenazi identity
movement in Israel
. Screening of Mame-Loshn, Kinder-Loshn. (Yiddish w/ English subtitles, 53
min.)
