Donald Williams, an African American freshman at San Jose State, was racially hazed in his dormitory in the form of them calling him the “N-word” and “three-fifths” while also outfitting the dorm with a Confederate flag. The administration’s actions in most of these instances have been largely abysmal. Therefore, these experiences, as well as Maya’s, have inspired Mount Holyoke students to come together in solidarity.
