<b>The Reproductive Freedom Project (RFP) of the ACLUâs National
office in New York City seeks applicants for a full-time Legal
Administrative Assistant. </b><b><br>
</b><br>
<b>OVERVIEW</b> <br>
The ACLUâs Center for Liberty includes the LGBT & AIDS
Project, the Reproductive Freedom Project, the Womenâs Rights
Project, and the Program on Freedom of Religion and Belief. It is
dedicated to the principle that we are all entitled to determine
the course of our lives based on who we are and what we believe,
free from unreasonable government constraint and baseless
stereotypes. The Reproductive Freedom Project, a part of the
Center for Liberty, works to protect reproductive rights through
litigation, advocacy, and public education. <br>
<br>
The Legal Administrative Assistant will work with professional
staff from the Reproductive Freedom Project. The Assistant will
attend regular staff meetings and will have the opportunity to
learn about current threats to reproductive freedom interests,
including reproductive rights, and the legal landscape for
challenging them. <br>
<br>
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES <br>
⢠Handle general administrative duties, including processing
invoices, tracking expenses and case costs, generating expense
reports, ordering supplies, etc. <br>
⢠Conduct research, including internet research. <br>
⢠Schedule meetings and conference calls, and prepare relevant
material. <br>
⢠Handle travel arrangements. <br>
⢠Prepare, type, and proofread legal and other documents. <br>
⢠Maintain and organize electronic and hard copy filing systems.
<br>
⢠Answer telephones, route calls and take messages. <br>
⢠Copy, mail and perform other administrative duties as
assigned. <br>
<br>
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS <br>
⢠Bachelorâs Degree and/or 1-2 years work experience
preferred. <br>
⢠Must be a self-starter, take initiative and be extremely
organized. <br>
⢠Outstanding organizational, time management and administrative
skills. <br>
⢠Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; excellent
telephone manner. <br>
⢠Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Outlook,
Word, Excel, etc.) and have experience with Internet research. <br>
⢠Excellent writing and proofreading skills. <br>
⢠Must be able to work independently as well as within a team. <br>
⢠An interest in civil liberties and reproductive rights is
helpful. <br>
<br>
<b>COMPENSATION</b> <br>
The salary for this position is $44,586. Generous benefits package
