*War Crimes Expert Predrag Dojcinovic to Speak at Amherst College April
10, 2012*
AMHERST, Mass.---War crimes expert Predrag Dojcinovic, of the
International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY), will
discuss "History and Politics in Evidence: The Shifting Status of Grand
Narratives in War Crimes Trials and the International Law" at *4:30 p.m.
on Tuesday, April 10*, in Pruyne Lecture Hall of Amherst College's
Fayerweather Hall. The event, which is free and open to the public, is
sponsored by Amherst's Lamont Lecture Fund and the University of
Connecticut.
Since 1998, Dojcinovic has been working in the linguistic, analytical
and research section of the Office of the Prosecutor at ICTY. He has
authored numerous articles and has edited several volumes on the
cultural and political aspects of the 1991-99 series of armed conflicts
in the former Yugoslavia. He most recently published /Propaganda, War
Crimes Trials and International Law/, which addresses the emerging
jurisprudence and international law concerning propaganda in war crimes
investigations and trials.
