I am writing on behalf of Mount Holyoke
Vietnamese Students Assocation. I would like
to extend an invitation to you and to all
Hampshire Legal Studies majors/minors to an
open discussion on Agent Orange and legal
debate between the US and Vietnam which will
take place on <b>Dec 9 (Thursday) at 7pm in
Cleveland L3, Mount Holyoke College</b>. The
discussion is led by Susan Hammond - a social
activist who has worked on the matter in
Southeast Asia for the past 20 years (please

2.8 million US veterans and have
caused more than 1 million birth
deformities in Vietnam since 1975.
The war left behind not only 20
million gallons of this deadly
herbicides, but also prolonged
suffer for Vietnamese younger
generations. Was the use of Agent
Orange justified? Why has the US
denied compensation for Vietnamese
victims? How Agent Orange is
affecting the lives of innocent
children in Vietnam, Cambodia and
Laos? And what are the solutions?</span><br

Prior to founding the War Legacies
Project Susan worked as Deputy
Director for the Fund for
Reconciliation and Development for
9 years where she lived and worked
in Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and New
York. She received her MA in
International Education from New
York University and a BA from
Smith College. </p>
