Jim de Seve on Tying the (Same Sex) Knot: Oct 17 @ 5pm ELH

Acclaimed filmmaker and activist Jim de Seve screens and discusses his
award-winning, powerful documentary on the costs of exclusion from
legal marriage, Tying the Knot: The Union That's Dividing America.

Less an argument for same-sex marriage than a graphic depiction of the
costs of not being allowed access to it, the film offers gripping and
at times emotionally wrenching testimony about what happens to long
term partners when one dies and the other is a non-person in the eyes
of the law.

Join LBGTQ Staff, faculty and students for stimulating conversation
and a screening of this important film. Refreshments will be
served.
