This fall the Ohio Innocence Project (OIP) at the University of
Cincinnati College of Law is celebrating its 10th anniversary. As the
primary component of the Rosenthal Instituite for Justice, OIP has
*freed 17 wrongfully convicted people* since its founding.
Watch some of the exonorees and others who made their freedom possible.

Through the work of UC Law students and staff attorneys, OIP seeks to
identify prisoners who are innocent of the crimes for which they were
convicted, and then fight to get them released from prison and fully
exonerated. Students serve as OIP fellows for one-year terms (during the
summer after their first year of law school and during the fall and
spring semesters of their second year).
OIP serves as a model program of its kind and hosted the first-ever
international innocence gathering in 2011. Its director, Professor Mark
Godsey, is a regular commentator on issues related to criminal law. He
has appeared on numerous media outlets including: NBC, CNN, BBC, NPR,
and Court TV, and is the editor of the Wrongful Convictions Blog and a
contributor to the Huffington Post.
