Schedule: 40 hours/week, plus evening hours and some weekends as needed
Salary: $22,000+ based on experience

About the Organization
The Chicago Committee on Minorities in Large Law Firms (“Chicago
Committee”) is a nonprofit organization comprised of 50 member law firms
and corporations that seeks racial and ethnic diversity in the legal
profession by collaborating with its membership to drive sustainable
institutional change at law firms and corporate legal departments and to
cultivate the professional development and community of minority lawyers
through programming and leadership opportunities. The organization was
initially created to provide networking opportunities and support for
minority lawyers in order to alleviate feelings of isolation at large
law firms in the city. At its inception, the organization focused on
hosting an annual reception for lawyers and summer associates. In the
past 25 years, the organization has greatly expanded its scope,
concentrating its efforts on providing substantive programming and

Description of Position
The Program Assistant is responsible for providing administrative
support for all organizational needs including events, programming,
research initiatives, and meetings as well as conducting daily office
duties. This position is also responsible for providing administrative
support to staff, members of the Board of Directors and members of the
Associate Board. The job is integral to the organization and its
mission. This position provides an opportunity to gain extensive
administrative experience in the Chicago legal and not-for-profit
communities and network with law firm partners, associates, summer
associates, and other law firm personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Responsible for regular office duties including scheduling meetings
and preparing meeting materials
• Assist Program Director/Director of Operations with development and
execution of administrative and logistical details for individual events
and special programs
• Maintain and update website, weekly e-newsletter, and social media
accounts
• Research and create electronic presentations for events and meetings
• Responsible for creating and/or overseeing organization’s electronic
and print publications
• Act as main contact with various outside vendors including but not
limited to printing company, graphic designers, and website provider
• Assist Program Director/Director of Operations in managing summer intern
Position Qualifications
• College degree
• Detail oriented and organized
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to take initiative and take ownership over projects
• Ability to work with moderate supervision, multi-task and prioritize
tasks as necessary
• Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook) required
• Knowledge of and familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook and
LinkedIn) preferred
• Knowledge of and familiarity with Photoshop and/or InDesign preferred
• A demonstrated commitment to and passion for issues of race,
diversity, legal system, and social justice
