America, Afghanistan and Pakistan
A Lecture By DAVID ROHDE
While a reporter for the Christian Science Monitor, David Rohde received
a Pulitzer Prize for his coverage of the massacre in Srebrenica. In
2008, he shared a second Pulitzer Prize for the NY Times' team coverage
of Afghanistan and Pakistan. In Nov. 2008, while in Afghanistan, Rohde
was kidnapped by members of the Taliban, but managed to escape in June
2009 after seven months in captivity. During 2004 and 2005, he wrote
extensively on the treatment of detainees at the notorious Abu Ghraib
prison in Baghdad.
