Law Program presents: Hampshire at The Hague
7:00pm Thursday April 28th, FPH 102
Light snacks and refreshments provided.
Join us for a report from The Hague by the Jan Term 11 class,
International Human Rights Tribunals. Ten students from Hampshire and
the Five Colleges watched ongoing trials at the International Criminal
Court, the criminal tribunal for Yugoslavia, and the UN's International
Court of Justice, and met with court officials and human rights
advocates. The two-week visit included relevant museums and historical
sites, research and writing, and time for sampling the many rich
cultural offerings of the Netherlands.
This will be a very informal opportunity to hear about the important
human rights legal work that goes on in The Hague, and about other
aspects of the trip, directly from the students who participated. If you
are interested in human rights, war crimes and justice, and especially
if you would like to consider taking this course in the future, this
will be a great event to distract you from all the work you have to do
before the end of the semester.
