Description:
Children's Rights is seeking a full-time, entry-level paralegal to join
an active litigation program committed to reforming child welfare
services for abused and neglected children. Children's Rights is a
national non-profit organization that uses the law, in partnership with
a variety of local and national expert groups and policy analysts, to
bring about meaningful reform in government child welfare agencies that
provide children with foster care, adoptive and child protective
services. Responsibilities of the paralegal position include providing
support to attorneys in litigation case management, managing case press,
proofreading and finalizing legal briefs, reviewing documents, managing
document production, handling intake calls, conducting some data
analysis and managing other case-specific projects. The position of
paralegal at Children’s Rights has been ranked by The Princeton Review
as one of the Top 100 Jobs to land straight out of college.
Start date is flexible, but applicants should be prepared to begin by
late spring - early summer, and must be prepared to make a two year
commitment to the position.

Qualifications:
Candidates must have excellent analytical and computer skills and must
be very well organized, proactive in their approach to professional
duties, detail-oriented and capable of multi-tasking as well as true
team work on deadline. Professionalism, reliability and a good sense of
humor are required, as is a B.A. or a B.S. We will not consider
applicants who hold a J.D. degree. Knowledge of children's issues or
social services is a plus. A commitment to the mission of the
organization is essential.
