Boston plaintiffs’ civil rights litigation firm seeks a legal assistant.
The Law Offices of Howard Friedman is a small public interest law firm
emphasizing police misconduct and prisoners’ rights litigation. We are
looking for an intelligent, organized, and responsible person with a
demonstrated interest in constitutional rights and progressive causes.
Job responsibilities include speaking to potential clients and obtaining
information on their claims, reviewing and analyzing documents,
conducting factual research, communicating with clients, and
proofreading. Administrative job responsibilities include maintaining
case files, scanning documents, calendaring events, ordering supplies,
handling mail, updating the firm website, and filing.
Applicants should have strong organizational, writing, and computer
skills, including WordPerfect, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel, as
well as an ability to learn applications on the job. Applicants must
have a Bachelor’s degree and be willing to commit to two years with the
firm.
