Description:
Position is part-time (20 hours per week)

Duties:
1. Facilitate the anti-death penalty work of IJPC

*Coordinate the Families That Matter Program
*Communication with death row inmates, their families, lawyers, friends,
etc.
*Plan and facilitate regular meetings (usually held in Columbus), plan
programs, educate about and accompanying to legal proceedings, etc.
*Work to develop the organizational structure,
*Cooperate with lawyers especially near executions,
*Assist families with media work, messaging, etc,
*Organize petitions drives, rallies, press conferences, etc.

2. Facilitate Cincinnati OTSE (Ohioans To Stop Executions)
*Conduct meetings and planning sessions
*Implement plans
*Work with volunteers
*Do educational programs
*Plan prayer services the evening before executions
*Attend the public witness at the time of executions
*Other activities as needed

3. Other
*Contribute to the planning, writing and mailing of newsletters
*Collaboration with other Justice and Peace organizations
*Assist in other programming areas when time permits or it is necessary
*Grant- writing in program area
*Additional tasks as time permits

Qualifications:
1. Excellent written and oral communications skills.
2. Excellent computer skills.
3.Ability to work independently and collaboratively, to multi-task and
see projects through to completion.
4.Ability and willingness to work flexible hours.
5.Ability to work with individuals and facilitate groups.
6.Good listening skills and compassion for persons in crisis.
7.Prior experience working with the press is desirable.
8.Some experience in grassroots organizing is desirable.
9.Some knowledge of death penalty issues and commitment to ending the
use of the death penalty in Ohio,

The small IJPC staff functions collaboratively, uses consensus in
decision making and shares office chores.
