Hi Hampshirites,

I'm getting in touch with many on campus groups about an exciting event coming
up. Currently, New Leaf is organizing a group to head down to D.C. November
2-5 to take part in Power Shift 2007. It is the largest youth conference in
the country on climate change. There are some incredible speakers lined up
including members of the EPA, U.N. and members from across the country speaking
on issues such as campus activism, global warming, social inequality and
environmental justice, sustainability in an urban environment - just to name a
few. There will also be workshops and a rally on The Hill. Not only will it
be a great time to learn about current climate and social justice issues, but
it's also a great opportunity to connect with college students from around the
country and take part in a nation wide effort to lobby Washington to start
listening to the voice of its youth.

Registration deadline for the cheaper price is October 1, that is next Monday.
It is only $20 to attend the conference!! We are going to fundraise this month
to try and cover the majority of travel and housing costs. For more information
you can visit www.powershift07.org

There is an informational meeting THIS TUESDAY (tomorrow) at 8:30 pm in The
Bridge. I will be bringing snacks and beverages. I just want to get together
to see who is potentially interested, get on top of fundraising and cover some
details about the trip. Try and bring at least two of your friends who might
want to come. The goal is to get 55 Hampshire students to the event. Feel
free to e-mail me with any questions and I hope to see you this Tuesday!

Thanks!

Alex Reese
