Steven T. Newcomb (Shawnee/Delaware), a scholar and activist in American 
Indian struggles, was previously a Senior Fellow with the Fourth World Center 
for the Study of Indigenous Law and Politics and is the director of the 
Indigenous Law Institute in Portland, OR.  He is currently a Visiting 
Professor in Legal Studies at UMass, Amherst.
