Hampshire in Berlin Information Session<br>
Monday, Sept 15 @ noon-1pm<br>
Merrill Living Room<br>
</b>Come find out about Hampshire's Exchange Program in Berlin! Hosted
by GEO staff and the faculty advisor for the Berlin program, Jeff
Wallen (HACU). The Hampshire in Berlin program runs every other spring
semester, including spring 2009, spring 2011, etc. This program
features:<br>
* intensive German language study<br>
* opportunities to study at four universities in Berlin<br>
* academic excursions to Potsdam and other sites in the Berlin region,
as well as other German cities and places such as Prague, Cracow, and
Warsaw<br>
* a Hampshire faculty in residence (Jeff Wallen) organizing and leading
the program<br>

GEO Study Abroad Info Table: International Studies Abroad (ISA)<br>

</b>For twenty years, International Studies Abroad (ISA) has provided
college students in the United States and Canada the opportunity to
explore the world. ISA offers a wide variety of study abroad programs
at accredited schools and universities in Argentina, Belgium, Chile,
Czech Republic, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, England, France, Italy,
Mexico, Morocco, Peru, and Spain. ISA also as a program called ELAP
(Experiential Learning Abroad Programs); this program is more
community-based, focusing on arranging & preparing students for
volunteer & internship opportunities in some Spanish-speaking
countries for students with proficiency in Spanish.<br>

</b>Global Partnerships for Health & Education (GPHE) is a
nonprofit organization traveling the world by bicycle, examining global
access to health care and education. In a unique display of still and
video footage, the documentary explores GPHE's journey by bicycle to
discover the diversity of people and places, and the educational and
health care challenges faced in Asia and Central Asia. Event sponsored
by Hampshire's Office of Campus Leadership and Activities (CLA).<br>

<b>Que Bola, Asere?: Presentation of Student Work from Hampshire in
Cuba, Spring 2008<br>

Music & Dance Building - Recital Hall<br>
</b>Come join students who have just returned from the Hampshire in
Havana, Cuba program in spring 2008 as they present the academic and
artistic work from their semester abroad. Faculty involved with the
program and the GEO program advisor for the Cuba program (Vanessa
Paulman) will also be there and will briefly introduce the program, so
if you're interested in studying in Cuba, this is a great place to
learn more! Students will present projects focused on music, visual
arts, dance, ethnography, and Cuban cultural studies. Look for an
upcoming announcement on the intranet/daily digest for more information.<br>

Unite for Sight: Volunteer to Assist Eye Doctors in Ghana, India &
Honduras<br>
</b>Here's a way to get hands-on experience assisting eye doctors<font><font><font><font
face="Times New Roman, Times, serif" size="3"> working with
community-based outreach programs in rural villages, refugee camps, and
slums in Ghana, India, and Honduras. </font></font></font></font><font><font><font><font
face="Times New Roman, Times, serif" size="3">Volunteers are immersed
in effective, sustainable international health and development
programs, and are able to see immediate results of their works with
patients.</font></font></font></font><font><font><font><font
face="Times New Roman, Times, serif" size="3"> Volunteers are
encouraged to be proactive and entrepreneurial to
develop their own projects and programs that dovetail with Unite For
Sight’s outreach programs. Students with little or no health/eye care
experience are encouraged to apply, as Unite for Sight volunteers
receive all necessary training for their placements.</font></font></font></font><b></b><font

For Sight also welcomes
volunteers to participate as photographers and filmmakers.<br>
