Hampshire Exchange Spotlight: Macquarie University in Australia</b><br>
Macquarie's innovative courses, cutting-edge research programs and
state-of-the art facilities are located on a spacious parkland campus
just 35 minutes from the heart of Australia's largest, most
cosmopolitan city. Macquarie has over 30,000 students and 1,500 staff
members. Students come from over 100 countries to study at Macquarie
University, a liberal arts institution with a student-centered
atmosphere. At Macquarie University you will learn from some of the
brightest and most talented academics in the world. Like other study
abroad students, Hampshire students can tailor a study program of
subjects from across the University. In addition, students have an
opportunity to undertake an unpaid internship during the course of
their studies at Macquarie. Interns from all backgrounds are placed
within Australian workplaces, which not only provides an invaluable

<b>Arava Institute for Environmental Studies: Preserving Nature,
Building Peace</b><br>
If you are looking for a different kind of study abroad experience that
combines cutting edge environmental studies, peace work and training, a
cross-culture education and living experience, the Middle East, kibbutz
and desert living then the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies is
the program for you and your Division II or III work. The Arava
Institute for Environmental Studies offers several innovative
environmental study and research options. All courses are fully
accredited and conducted in English. Students explore a range of
environmental issues from a regional, interdisciplinary perspective
while learning peace building and leadership skills. Studies at the
Arava Institute are international in scope, with a student body
comprised of Jordanians, Palestinians, Israelis, North Americans and
others. The Arava Institute gives Jewish, Arab and other students a
unique opportunity to study and live together for an extended period of
time. In so doing, our students build networks and understanding that
will enable future cooperative work and activism in the Middle East and
beyond. Study for a semester, a year, a summer, or consider Arava for
graduate work, too!<br>
