OPPORTUNITIES FOR GOING ABROAD<br>

New England College January '08 Trip to NEPAL</b><br>
There are still a few remaining openings for New England College's
December/January trip to Nepal this year. Course is called
"Experiencing the Kingdom of Nepal: Through the Eyes of Buddha and the
Ears of Ganesh." The cost of this course is $2800 (and Hampshire does
not provide financial aid for non-Hampshire January Term programs). If

<b>Special Beijing Olympics Language & Culture Summer Program</b><br>
The Alliance for Global Education is pleased to announce a special 2008<br>
summer program focused on the Olympics, held at Beijing Language and
Culture<br>
University. All students will take a core course taught in English
entitled The 2008<br>
Beijing Olympics: Challenges and Opportunities. As part of this
8-credit summer program, students will also take Chinese language
courses taught at the beginning through advanced level. In addition,
they will have the opportunity to volunteer at companies and
organizations supporting the Olympics. The Alliance is currently
accepting applications for the Olympics program, as well as spring and
summer 2008 programs in Beijing and Shanghai.<br>

<b>FELLOWSHIPS & SCHOLARSHIPS</b><br>
<b><br>
Bridging Scholarships for Studying in Japan</b><br>
The Bridging Scholarship program will award 20 scholarships to
American students participating in study-abroad programs in Japan that
begin in Spring 2008. Undergraduate students majoring in any field of
study and attending any recognized exchange or independent program in
Japan are eligible to apply for these scholarships. Recipients of
Bridging Scholarships will receive stipends of $2,500 or $4,000,
depending on the length of their study program in Japan.<br>
