International Career Development Opportunities

   Japanese Bilingual Career Information Session

   geared toward students with a background in Japanese language
   interested in learning about the job market in Japan. First through

   Connect-123 Internship and Volunteer Programs & 2012 Scholarship
   [11]Connect-123
   Connect-123 offers internship and volunteer programs in Dublin,
   Barcelona, Buenos Aires, Shanghai, and Cape Town. Connect-123 is
   currently running their 2012 scholarship competition, where students
   can win a free trip -- including airfare and housing -- to complete a
   career-related, international internship in any of their 5 locations --
   Barcelona, Buenos Aires, Cape Town, Dublin or Shanghai. Their panel of
   judges will select the winners from the best responses to the following
   question: Describe, using words, photos or a video, how the opportunity
   to work, learn and explore on a Connect-123 international program would
   make a difference in your life and/or in the lives of others. The
   application deadline is March 31 and winners will be announced on April
   15.

   Business in the Arts Edinburgh Festival Internship
   [12]IFSA-Butler
   The Business in the Arts Edinburgh Festival Internship is a unique
   program that combines a fun-filled summer in Edinburgh with a
   once-in-a-lifetime internship experience with the world famous
   Edinburgh Festival. Program students will have the opportunity to learn
   the business and management side of the arts with a combination of
   practical business courses and hands-on experience. Courses are taught
   by University of Edinburgh professors and based at the university's
   renowned business school. During the eight-week program, students
   follow a set curriculum of courses, including business, marketing, arts
   management and more, for the first half of the summer, then spend the
   second half in an internship. Housing is located in Edinburgh's city
   center and students earn 6 U.S. semester credit hours for the summer.

   Transitions Abroad Travel Writing
   [13]Transitions Abroad
   Transitions Abroad is hosting its 2012 Student Travel Writing Contest.
   the winning student submission will be awarded $500, the second place
   winner will be awarded $150, the third place winner will be awarded
   $100, and runner-up winners $50. In addition, all winners will be
   featured in the May Webzine dedicated to study abroad and educational
   travel. The contest deadline is April 15, 2012 with no entry fee.
   Winners will be notified on, or about, May 1, 2012 for publication on,
   or about, May 15, 2012.

Hampshire in Berlin Spring 2013
Register for the Prerequisite Course held Fall 2012

   Considering the Hampshire in Berlin Exchange program for the spring
   2013 semester?  Sign up for the preparatory course, Berlin - Contested
   Artworks in the German Capital (HACU-0205-1) offered this fall by Anna
   Schrade.
   “In this course 'artworks', in the broadest sense of the term, will
   provide entry points to the city of Berlin, which is today one of the
   most vibrant cultural centers of Europe. Each session will be centered
   around one work of art, film or architecture that re/presents
   Berlin-specific histories and has triggered controversial public
   debates in Germany either today or in the past.” (a complete course

   This course is highly recommended for students planning to apply for
   the Berlin Exchange program for the spring 2013 semester and offers
   students a unique look into Berlin’s prominent past and vibrant
   present.   This course is not restricted to Berlin Exchange program
   participants and no prior German language is required.

   Students interested in applying for the Freeman-Asia Scholarship for
   Fall 2012 or Academic Year 2012/2013 study abroad should contact GEO at
