These weekly sessions are the perfect place to start getting ready to 
study abroad. Types of programs, financial aid, integration with your 
academics, logistics, and all other major topics will be covered.

spring (2012), your completed application must be submitted to the 
Global Education Office by 4:00pm.

Students intending to Study Abroad for the Spring ’12 semester must 
submit their intent to study abroad to CASA by 4:00pm.

Tuesday 10/4

The Gilman Scholarship Program offers awards for undergraduate study 
abroad and was established by the International Academic Opportunity Act 
of 2000. This scholarship provides awards for U.S. undergraduate 
students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding at a two-year or 
four-year college or university to participate in study abroad programs 
worldwide.

Freeman-ASIA accepts applications from U.S. citizens or permanent 
residents studying at the undergraduate level at a two-year or four-year 
college or university who demonstrate financial need to study abroad in

Boren Scholarships and Fellowships provide unique funding opportunities 
for U.S. undergraduate and graduate students to add an important 
international and language component to their educations. The 
scholarship focuses on geographic areas, languages, and fields of study 
that are critical to U.S. national security

*>>Franklin College Switzerland, Programs in Zurich<<*

Franklin College Switzerland is starting a new semester-long program in 
Zurich for undergraduate students beginning January 2012.

Franklin College is a four-year liberal arts college accredited in the 
United States by Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) 
and by the Swiss Accreditation Board for Higher Education (OAQ). The 
campus is located in beautiful Lugano, in the Italian-speaking part of 
southern Switzerland. This spring FCS is launching a new program in 
Zurich, designed for FCS students and students from other colleges who 
are interested in pursuing a semester-long program in the vibrant urban 
community of Zurich in the northern, German-speaking part of

*>>Beginner Spanish and Healthcare program in Mexico<<*

Child Family Health International will be providing the opportunity for 
students with little or no knowledge of the Spanish language to increase 
their cultural and linguistic competency as well as their understanding 
of health care delivery in low-resources settings through a new program 
in Oaxaca, Mexico. Through homestay families, focused language classes, 
and clinical rotations, participants will gain confidence communicating 
in Spanish as well as a greater awareness of local culture and medical 
practice.

SIT has updated their program information, which can be found at 
http://www.sit.edu/studyabroad/.

Please note that although the _India: National Identity and the Arts 
_program was scheduled to be moving to Pondicherry as of Spring 2012, 
the shift to Pondicherry has been delayed. The program will remain in 
Delhi until a later date and no changes have been made to the 
curriculum.SIT’s 2012 print catalog does list Pondicherry as the program 
base but the website has been corrected to reflect New Delhi.

Ecole Parsons à Paris / Paris College of Art is currently accepting 
applications for Visiting Students interested in a semester or year 
abroad in Paris. Visiting students study fine arts, design, history, 
culture, language and theory with like-minded students from 50 
nationalities around the world. All classes are taught in English, 
although students are encouraged to study French while abroad.
