Subject: [SSFFS] Important announcements and contact info

Hi, all!

Since Friday's meeting was so densely packed with announcements, here's a recap
for those of you who weren't there or who were there but didn't get a name or
number that you needed. This is long, but very important.

For Conbust:
The Craft Sale is this Wednesday, Feb 9, 9-4:30 in the Campus Center. If you
have crafts to donate, drop them off in Eleanor's room in Ziskind after dinner
on Tuesday. The room says 307, even though that isn't the proper number. Her
extension is 4858. If you get here and are confused, most of the council lives
on the third floor. We'll get things where they need to be.

We will hold a Geek Auction and Gaming Party on Saturday, February 12. It is
only open to 5-college students. The auction is from 7-9 in the Campus Center,
and the gaming party is from 9-12 at Unity House. The party is free if you
participated in the auction, and $2 otherwise. If you are interested in being
auctioned, contact Heather Gallagher at hgallagh at email.smith.edu .

We need people willing to let us borrow their gaming systems and controllers
during ConBust for the video game room. If you have anything, contact Eleanor
at X4858 or erosenth at email.smith.edu .

We voted to DJ our own dance during the con, so now we need to compile music.
If you have geeky or otherwise danceable music, contact Chloe at
KyoDexter at hotmail.com

We still need people to run RPG's at ConBust. If you are interested, contact
Heather Slutz at hslutz at email.smith.edu .

Also, we need people to gofer at the con. You get in for free, and have to run
minor errands or watch rooms when you are needed. It's fun, and pretty easy,
but important. If you are interested, email Lizz at princezzsakura2 at hotmail.com .

The Phoenix:
I'm going to be printing the Phoenix at the end of February or beginning of
March. I have enough submissions, so now I need a cover. Cover submissions
should be sent to me via email, my box (8461), or given to me in person any time
in the next two weeks or so (the sooner the better). Submissions should be
black and white, phoenix-themed, and include the title of the magazine as well
as Smith Science Fiction and Fantasy Society.

Writing group is still running, but we need to find a time to meet. Currently
we meet on Thursdays from 7-8ish, and we will keep that time slot unless a lot
of people who want to come can't make it. We will meet this Thursday to start
off the semester. If you are interested, contact me.

Other:
Our library is on its way to being useful again, so we are going to start making
library cards for member. In order to make them a little nicer, we've decided
to ask for a logo design. Keep in mind that it needs to be small enough to fit
on a business card, be black and white, and say SSFFS. Try to incorporate all
four of our realms- science fiction, fantasy, anime, and gaming- if possible.
Send submissions to Sora at akennell at email.smith.edu or to her box # 7671.

*whew*

That's all for now!
-Tiffany
