HERE IS AN AWESOME EMAIL ABOUT TWO AWESOME EXCALIBUR EVENTS
first the screening for this week, starting this saturday the 30th at 8pm in the
FPH EAST LECTURE HALL.
It is WIZARD PEOPLE, DEAR READER. If you haven't heard of this, I'm not
surprised, but here's what it is. Imagine if some crazy, gravelly-voiced writer
was sat down in front of the movie "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" with
the sound off and forced to write an audiobook based on what he saw. That, my
friends, is WIZARD PEOPLE, DEAR READER. It's the first Harry Potter movie with a
bizarre, hilarious new soundtrack. I admit I felt hesitant at first. "That seems
lame and silly," you might say. BUT NO! It's a hoot. A BIG FAT HOOT.
After that, the second to last episode of The Prisoner plays at 10:40.
Here's the other event and stay around to hear about it. It's sort of a Cthulhu
Night Extravaganza. What this boils down to is meeting this Sunday, May 1st at
8pm in FPH East Lecture Hall. We'll hang out, eat some snacks, and teach you
about the rules for chalking stuff on campus, and a little about the terrible
Elder God Cthulhu and some of his friends like Nyarlathotep or Shub-Niggurath,
the Goat with a Thousand Young. Basically, we're going to honor the work of
horror pioneer H.P. Lovecraft by covering the campus with Lovecraft-inpired
chalk drawings. It's always a blast. At 9 we'll go over to the Dakin Living Room
and watch the FIRST NEW EPISODE OF FAMILY GUY. (If you don't care about this,
that's ok, we'll reconvene at 9:30 and start chalking in earnest)
We'll provide a lot of chalk, but any you can supply would be cool too. Bring
designs, phrases, pictures, anything to get those Lovecraft juices flowing (that
sounds odd, doesn't it?).
again, that's meeting at 8 in FPH East Lecture Hall. 9 for Family Guy, then out
for chalking. If the weather is inclement, the raindate is Tuesday night at 8 in
FPH 108.
Any five-college folk are welcome and encouraged to attend.
I know that was long. Thank you. I sincerely hope to see you there.
