Our next next couple of films continue our proud (and recent) tradition of
having basically nothing in common with each other. (although attempts at
comparison are welcomed!)
Still in Fph East Lecture Hall (unlike last week) and still Saturday evenings.
8:00 - HULK. From the director of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, this is one
of the stranger superhero movies to come out in recent years. Part experiment
in cinematography, part exploration of the relationship between fathers and
their children, and part HULK SMASH! This movie may not be for everyone, but it
ended up being one of my favorite movies this year, and I can forgive most of
it's flaws for the soaring heights it achieves. Come down and check it out.
10:30 - THE NEVERENDING STORY. The 80's produced a whole crop of fantasy movies
that can be enjoyed by all ages, and this is held as one of the nest of them.
I'm sure most of you have seen this, but for those who haven't (including me),
the story involves a boy who is sucked into a book and ends up meeting a number
of strange and interesting characters and joining their attempt to save their
world from destruction.
Deathfest coming...soon
