Shirley Maiewski was, along with Hal Clement, one of the nicest people I've
ever met, and was a fixture at early NotJustAnotherCons (NJACs).  In mundane
life she had worked for decades at the UMass Amherst University Store
Textbook Annex.

Her obituary in _The Daily Hampshire Gazette_:

"Shirley Maiewski, 83, of Hatfield, on April 13, 2004. Reposing at the
DROZDAL FUNERAL HOME, Northampton. Funeral service Friday 10am in Hatfield
Congregational. Interment Main Street Cemetery. FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS
IN THE VICTORIAN ROOM, THURSDAY 2PM-4PM, AND 6PM-8PM."
