The Smith Science Fiction and Fantasy Society is holding their annual
convention, ConBust, this Friday through Sunday. "Why should I care?"
you may ask. Well, it might be the three days of continuous movie and
anime screenings. Or it might be the panels on proper evil overlording,
fanfiction, Buffy, homosexuality in SF, and more. Or maybe the chance
to meet Patricia C. Wrede, Rebecca Borgstrom, Lynn Flewelling, Mari
Morimoto, and Lillian Olsen. You could be interested in checking out
the dealers' room, or maybe the gaming (ranging from Chez Geek and D&D
to a BESM LARP, Boggle, and a miniatures painting clinic). Perhaps you
want to fight in the boffing tournament or enter the Homestar Runner
voice imitation contest. Or you might take a look at their website
(http://sophia.smith.edu/conbust/) and find your own reason to go.
3-day passes are only $10 at the door, and individual day passes are
cheaper. It'll make your weekend that much more exciting.

Also, ConBust is still looking for volunteers who want to be on the
anime and webcomic panels, and for anyone with a wide knowledge of
characters in anime and/or SF/F who would be interested in judging the
cosplay contest. If you're interested, reply to this email and we'll
forward your email to the con chairs.

We hope to see you at ConBust this weekend!
