Hi! I'm John Watson from--well, lots of places, though principally UMJAMS
these days. (I tend to be the peripatetic liaison between Valley fandom.)
UMJAMS is the UMass Japanese Animation and Manga Society, and I'm writing
because I saw in the ML archives that the URL to UMJAMS' Web site is
*slightly* incorrect. It should be
<http://www.umass.edu/rso/umjams/>
not www.umass.edu/r50/umsams. ("RSO" stands for "Registered Student
Organization".)
If anyone is interested, I post a weekly list of anime showings in the
Valley to the newsgroups <news:rec.arts.anime.announce>,
<news:rec.arts.anime.fandom> and <news:rec.arts.anime.misc>, as well as the
local anime and SF clubs' mailing lists. Since I have not heard from them
directly, does anyone know if the Hampshire Anime Group is still active? If
so, do they have a mailing list or Web site? Showings? I'd greatly
appreciate being able to get in contact with them.
Lastly, the publicist for 5Con (which originated with Excalibur ten years
ago) asked me to pass on their information:
<http://www.5con.org/>
It's happening at Seelye Hall, Smith College on April 5-7 2002.
<http://www.smith.edu/map/>
(Building number 4, in the Center Campus section. The bus stop is in front
of John M. Greene Hall, no. 12.)
Ciao,
John
