Dear student,

The Five College Coastal and Marine Sciences Program offers seminars, scholarships, field trips, and more to students enrolled in the five colleges. This email is part of a bi-monthly informational series that will be sent to you. Please contact this office if you are not interested in receiving it.

Topics covered in the attached October newsletter:

1. EJ Murphy scholarship applications due Nov. 4, 2005. Awarded to Five College students for continued research on established projects and travel to conferences or workshops during the academic year. Awards are granted up to $500.00. 

2. Go to the Tropics for Spring Break: informational meetings at UMass (Oct. 20) and Smith College (Oct. 25.)
 
3. Student Research Symposium: Thursday, Nov. 3, Smith College. Students from the five colleges will present summer research projects funded by the Five College Coastal and Marine Sciences Program, the Smith College Environmental Science and Policy Program, and the Woods Hole Marine Science Consortium. Come find out how you can get a summer internship.

4. Seminar: Roger Hanlon, Marine Biological Laboratory, Woods Hole, Rapid adaptive camouflage: Nature's best design - the cephalopods, Friday, Nov. 4, UMass.
