Farm Coordinator Position--United Teen Equality Center
The United Teen Equality Center, a youth organization located in
downtown Lowell, is in search of a part-time Farm Coordinator to help
run its Youth Farming Project on 2.5 acres of land in Dracut, just
outside of Lowell. We recently completed our first farming season last
summer. Our goal is for the project to be youth-led, therefore, we are
looking an individual who can serve as guidance and support for all
youth involved (supervising approximately 12 youth during the summer
and 4 youth throughout the remainder of the year).

We are looking for an individual that is skilled in sustainable,
urban farming techniques, with the ability to both teach and apply
these techniques. As well, this individual should be committed to
empowering work with Lowell’s young people, with specific focus of
the farm project’s educational focus including: environmental
justice/racism, imperialism and its effects, conventional versus
sustainable farm practices, and sustainable living.

Compensation: The position pays $14.00-14.50 per hour, 20-30 hours a week
during the months of June, July and August. Pending funding, we hope that
this position will be expanded into year-round employment. Form more
information on UTEC, please visit www.utec-lowell.org. To apply, please
email a cover letter and resume to the email address listed below.
