BEASTS IN THE GARDEN

With black bears, moose, deer, beavers, and coyotes thriving in New England,
residents of Massachusetts are confronting a surprising, modern
problem: how to
coexist with wildlife in suburbia. David Baron, award-wining science
correspondent
for NPR, explores the growing struggle between man and animal in his new book,
The Beast in Garden, which tells the chilling tale of mountain lions
in Colorado.
In a slide lecture, he will recount that tale--the story of a fatal
lion attack and
its causes--and will share its lessons for New England.

October 21; 4:30, Cole Assembly Room, Converse Hall
