Thursday, October 16, 2003

A forum to examine the Agricultural Preservation Restriction Program (APR):
whereby development rights are purchased and frozen and thus local 
farms are preserved

	v	History
	v	Achievements
	v	Current challenges
Current Massachusetts budget problems and cuts threaten APR program funding and
therefore threaten the continued existence of some local farms and open lands!

Panel:
Robie Hubley, Moderator. 
Alexandra Dawson, Attorney. 
Annie Cheatham, Community Involved in Sustaining Agriculture. 
Nancy Hanson, Hampshire College Farm Center. 
Joseph Swartz, farmer. 
State Representatives Ellen Story, John Scibak, and Peter Kocot are 
invited to join us
     to comment on the panel presentation, current issues with state 
funding and other 
     legislation affecting farming.
