> Dr. Amanda Guyer and Dr. Paul Hastings at the Center for Mind & Brain, University of California, Davis (http://mindbrain.ucdavis.edu) seek to fill TWO full-time research assistant positions at the Junior Specialist level starting Summer 2014. These positions are for two years, with possibility for extension depending on funding.  The successful candidates will work on a NIMH-funded study of neurobiological and socio-emotional development in Mexican-origin adolescents at risk for depression. The project draws on multiple methods of inquiry including psychophysiology, neuroimaging, behavioral responses, and questionnaires.

> ·         Recruiting, scheduling and maintaining contact with youths and their families in Spanish and English;
> ·         Running visits with youths and their parents at the Imaging Research Center in Sacramento;

> Required:   A bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related field. Experience with neuroimaging and/or psychophysiological procedures. Availability to work during weekend and evening hours.

> Preferred: Fluent in speaking, reading and writing in Spanish; Strong track record of working with youth and their families;  Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment on multiple tasks;  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong organizational and problem-solving skills, and keen attention to detail;  Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, Unix) and willingness to learn and develop new skills related to data collection, management and processing. Experience processing neuroimaging and/or psychophysiology data using relevant software programs (e.g., MindWare, BioPac, AFNI, MATLAB, SPM), programming experimental tasks (e.g., using E-prime), and/or statistical analysis (e.g., using SPSS) are also highly desired.
