Candidate talk-12PM, Wed. April 4, Adele Simmons Hall Ash Auditorium

James Hua-Zen Kao received his MFA in painting from the School of the
Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago IL in 2006. He received his BFA from
the same institution in 2004. Additionally he holds an BA in Philosophy
from the University of Chicago (1997). Since 2007 he works as an
Instructor in Painting and Drawing at School of the Art Institute of
Chicago (SAIC). James Kao was an Artist in Residence at the Marina
Abramoviç Institute-West in San Francisco, CA in 2010, and in 2011 he
worked as an Artist in Residence at White Mountain National Forest in
Sandwich, NH.
