DATABASE-DRIVEN, ARTS AND CULTURE WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT INTERNSHIP
Posted 2/23/2010
This is a multi-faceted website that will be enjoyable to work on. In
addition to the valuable work experience, if successful, there will be
many future opportunities for recognition and exposure in the field,
additional paid work, and other benefits. The business plan includes
quite a bit of expansion.
Receiving academic credit, with department consent, is encouraged and
will be aided by the employer. Pay will be determined based on an
intern’s scope of work, amount of academic credit being earned, and the
skills / experience of applicant(s).
The website initial mock up and plan is complete. Domains are secured.
The backend is the next step.
Requirements of student, (or student team) include proven competency
with the following:
• Complex website development, most likely on a custom designed
platform, but possibly using a CMS program such as Drupal.
• Multilevel database integration in a way that is easy for the owner to
update and edit and that allows for automated user input.
• Ability to meet project milestones and communicate in a timely and
professional manner with owner, graphic designers, etc.
• Competency with SEO and other forms of site viewership maximization,
including social networking.
Additional Requirements include: two (brief) professor references and,
if relevant, employer reference(s), academic course and degree
accomplishments, as well as samples of your best work.
Candidates should send a brief email letter of interest to the email
address below.
Interviews for qualified applicants will be arranged, on campus or in
downtown Northampton.
