Hi Everyone,<br>
I am writing to tell you about an facilitated open dialogue in response to the<br>
recent Climax article "Will The Real Feminists Please Stand Up?" The dialogue<br>
is planned for this Wednesday (2/23) at 8pm in the East Lecture Hall. We hope<br>
to discuss the issues brought forth by the article such as<br>
<br>
•With the title of this discussion being Humor vs. Hurt, we want to address the<br>
issue of The Feminists claiming to execute satire in their work. Can we come to<br>
a definition of satire? What are some guidelines that need to be followed?<br>
<br>
•The perpetuation of sexual violence through the lyrics of The Feminists, and<br>
the fact that we are living in a rape culture.<br>
<br>
•The issue of privilege, and how things like this come to be.<br>
<br>
•The issue of The Feminists affiliating themselves with Hampshire, and claiming<br>
to represent the college with the existence of victims and survivors.<br>
<br>
•As well as any other issues you deem worthy to bring into this space.<br>
<br>
We would like to have as much participation as possible from all different<br>
groups. So if you know someone who may be interested please pass this on!<br>
