Join us for a screening of Precious Knowledge with panel discussion and
student performances!
This film focuses on the journey of high school seniors in Tuscon, AZ as
they fight relentlessly to maintain the Ethnic Studies program that
state lawmakers attempt to and ultimately eliminate. Despite the
overwhelming academic success that students of the Ethnic Studies
program yield, key representatives in the state legislature believe that
the program teaches victimization, racism, and sedition. Key themes of
the film include social justice, critical pedagogy, and civil rights.
